It Was A Four-Gone Conclusion

Bolton have confirmed the departures of Zat Knight, Chris Eagles, Tyrone Mears and Jay Lynch.

This news isn’t going to come as a surprise really is it as it was a forgone conclusion, see what I did with the ‘four-gone conclusion’ in the title, that these guys would be released at the end of their contracts.

It goes without saying that they left with the clubs best wishes, with an official website statement saying: ‘The club would like to thank the players for their efforts whilst with Bolton and wish them the best for their future careers.’

The quartet will officially leave when their contracts end at the end of June or July.

Other that come to the end of their contracts this summer are Stuart Holden, Andre Moritz and Arran Lee-Barrett but talks are ‘ongoing’ with this trio, Holden is of course recovering from his latest injury.

It was also confirmed that academy graduate Glenn Matthews has been handed a one-year professional deal at the Macron Stadium, as it’ll be officially rebranded this summer.

Also leaving the club, at the end of their loan spells are Lukas Jutkiewicz, Liam Trotter, Alan Hutton, Neil Danns and Andy Robinson.

They have returned to their parent clubs, Danns of course will officially join Bolton on a one year contract when his Leicester City deal expires on June 30th with others possibilities to return on permanent contract.

Not too many surprises, if any right?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
