It’s Time To Stand Up And Fight

Battling spirit

Last night we faced Reading. We drew 1-1. Under Dougie Freedman, we`d have probably taken this result amicably and move on to our next game in high spirits having gained a point against the team that beat us 7-1. In fact one of the stars of that Reading side- Adam Le Fondre is now on loan at Bolton.

However, we should have beaten Reading. I wasn`t at the game, but from many many sources it would appear that the referee, Haywood, had an absolute shocker. Something is clearly wrong if three people get injured due to opposition aggression. It would appear that Kevin McNaughton who had worked incredibly hard to get back into the side was completely hacked down. We also lost in form defender David Wheater and 19 year old sensation, Zach Clough- the latter could be out ’til the end of the season.

This is terrible- awful in fact. We`ve lost three important players in the same of about half an hour, adding to around 10 others. Emile Heskey seems permanently injured and things just aren`t going well. Under Dougie Freedman I feel that we would use this as an excuse but to his credit Neil Lennon isn`t doing this at all. He is working through these problems, and unfortunately, might have to look to the loan market to find a solution.

In other news, we`ve seen the likes of Neil Danns show passion on Twitter, hitting out at fellow fansite Lion of Vienna Suite. While I`m not suggesting that anything that LoVS said was necessarily wrong or bad, it is good to see players show passion in the manner in which Danns did. The dwindling numbers of fit players need to stand up and push us back up the league.
