January Player of the Month Nominations

|

Vote for your Wanderer of the Month.

January has been a truncated month for Bolton Wanderers – a win, a draw and a loss from three league games, and a Cup exit to the hands of Premier League opposition. Cardiff`s continued involvement in the competition means our month ends earlier than planned, so here are the four nominations for this month`s award. You can vote by using the poll facility on this page. The winner will be announced on Monday.

Sammy Ameobi

An early blow against Ipswich probably impacted his ability to affect the game last weekend, but before that there were two very good performances, including the only real attacking threat against Brentford. I can`t comment on his performance against Huddersfield, as I didn`t go.

Mark Little

Has played all but 11 minutes of the month`s action, did struggle at Brentford but some fairly reliable shifts put in at the Macron.

Gary Madine

Madine scored both our league goals in January, putting him into double figures for the season. Encouragingly, it`s nearly the end of the window and he looks set to stay as well.

Josh Vela

I`ve seen some criticism of Vela in recent weeks and I`m not sure all of it is entirely fair. He got into a position against Ipswich where he was able to guide Antonee Robinson`s cross perfectly into Madine for the goal and created another chance as well. Against Hull he got stuck in after having to drop deeper when Henry and Pratley both came off.
