At this time of year, journalists are in competition with department stores. Which can start first, speculation about the January transfer window or promotions for Christmas? The journos have a slight edge at the moment, due to brain dead stories like the one linking Fulham`s Jimmy Bullard with Bolton.

It originated in that bastion of truth and honesty, the News of the World. Apparently Roy Hodgson doesn`t ‘fancy` the player. A bit bloody stupid playing him every week then isn`t it?

Bullard still has two years to run on his current deal, has not expressed any desire to leave and is on the fringes of the England squad. In addition, Fulham have what looks like the beginning of a promising midfield, which very much includes the former West Ham trainee.

C`mon lads, we know there`s a shortage of club stories due to the international break, but you`ll have to do better than this.

  • Got to be flattering for BUllard to be linked with a big Premiership club, I often wonder if it done this early to get the price higher, try to drum up interest from other big clubs. One thing West Ham wont be making a bid after all the frozen food went soggy in Iceland.

  • Totlly disagree, looking at the size of Katona she bit off more than she could chew. In one day anyway… Never mind Colleen Nolan has been bought in to support Katona up front with the Sausage Rolls 8 for a quid.

  • With the credit crunch it may be that the big money coming into football will start to slow down and when current contracts from sponsors expire clubs will be fighting for the same money. I personally think the likes of Manyoo and their billion dollar sponsorships are over, that means we at the lower end of the spectrum will also be trimming cloth.
