The transfer window is little over a month away and once again speculation that Jussi Jaaskelainen is to leave Bolton has started, with Tottenham said to be the suitors this time. That he signed a new four-year deal in summer hasn`t stopped the gossip. Of course Nicolas Anelka did the same thing, but the situation was different then with the club wanting to renegotiate his contract in order to ensure a sizeable sell on fee for his move to Chelsea.

Spurs can`t be blamed for wanting to replace the circus performer that is Heurelho Gomes, but offer a fee like the mooted £3 million, and we`ll have no choice but to point and laugh. The big Finn has been in fine form this season, and even though in his thirties, has at least a couple of years left in him.

With reserve keeper Ali Al Habsi out of contract in the summer, he would be a better target. The Omani stopper performed admirably at the end of last season in Jaaskelainen`s absence, and is keen for first team football.
