Joe Mason’s loan spell with Bolton comes to an end this weekend as he has reached the maximum 93-days he can spend on loan at the Reebok.

Two-goals in as many games, and six in total during his loan spell, has helped move Bolton towards another season of championship football with assistant boss Lennie Lawrence praising the job he has done and how keeping him would have been wanted.

Lawrence was quoted by Wales Online as saying: ‘Joe has done a good job for the team and we would have loved him to stay.’

Mason has had two loan spells with Bolton this season but after Saturday’s game with Barnsley he has to return to Cardiff City, however as he wasn’t named in the Cardiff premier league squad his season will now be over.

Should Bolton be looking to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent basis this summer he will cost them as he still has two-years left on his contract.

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
