Joe Mason was brought back to Bolton to score the goals to make sure the club stay in the championship, however it’s not just his goals that will be important to the club.

He knows also knows he, like any player, needs to keep working hard.

This return also allowed him to link-up with Lukas Jutkiewicz again, someone that he knows from a previous spell with Plymouth Argyle, with him thinking that this strike pairing is starting to work well but also knows this will take continue work and effort to grow.

The loanee told the Bolton News: ‘I felt like (me and Jutkiewicz) worked well together, so hopefully we can keep doing the same thing, working hard to carry on scoring goals together

‘The more game time I get the more confident I will be and, hopefully, that will show on the pitch. I actually knew Lukas from when I was at Plymouth when I was younger.

‘I was in the youth team and he joined the club on loan from Everton – I only knew him briefly because he was a few years older but we also have a mutual friend, so it was great to be reunited with him.’

Mason returned to the Reebok for another loan spell from Cardiff City last month, with him managing to score a couple of goals in as many games of late.

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
