Bolton have won back-to-back away games in the second tier of English football. Without checking, I can’t remember the last time this happened, but it was no later than the 2013-14 season.

The 1-0 win at Reading, thanks to Yanic Wildschut’s goal early in the second half, means we have a seven-point haul from our first three games. Last season, we didn’t reach that tally until a draw at Fulham on the last weekend of October.
It wasn’t really the best first half. Bolton started well but the pendulum swung back towards a balance as the half went on, Ben Alnwick made a good save as we went into the break goalless.
After the half, Yanic Wildschut, who scored the winner at West Brom, did it once again on the road, a great pass from Craig Noone put him through, and he finished perfectly. He also gave Reading right-back Andy Yiadom a torrid time, to use the cliche.
Highlights can be watched here.

O’Neil for Murphy (65)
Donaldson for Noone (81)
