Megson Says Sorry

Ahead of Saturday`s game with Wigan Athletic, Bolton manager Gary Megson has been reflecting on last season`s dismal performance. Megson drew criticism from all but the most sycophantic of fans for fielding a ridiculously below strength team against Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA cup.

The fault was compounded a few days later at the JJB Stadium, or whatever it`s called these days, as the first choice eleven rolled over and played dead. Wigan won the match despite playing with ten men for 85 minutes.

‘We let ourselves, the supporters and everyone down last season,` said the Ginger One, referring to that game. ‘It was as bad a day as we’ve had here in a long time.`

There`s no arguing with that. In fact it pretty much matches the sentiments expressed on this site, only yesterday. Hello Gaz, if you`re reading. Any chance of giving that nice Chris Basham a run-out?
