Middlesbrough v Bolton: The Opposition

|

Bolton’s next trip sees them go all the way up to Middlesbrough tomorrow night – here’s a quick lowdown on Boro,

Their season so far

Impressive. They were 2-0 down at Millwall late in their opening game of the season, but they managed to salvage a point, promoting a decent early run in the season which only ended at the weekend with a defeat at Norwich City. They sit just three points above us, however.

Home record

Very good so far, they haven’t even conceded a league goal at the Riverside this season as they’ve won three out of three. Two of those were 1-0 successes, having to wait until injury time to see off West Brom, while the Sheffield United win was a much simpler 3-0. The Carabao Cup has arguably tested them more, as Rochdale pulled a goal back in round two after Notts County took them to penalties at the previous stage.

Players to watch

Martin Braithwaite, after being out on loan for the second half last season, has scored three times already this season, while Britt Assombalonga likes a goal against us. Stewart Downing is still there at the age of 34 and is still going strong.
