Bolton player ratings, following the 1-0 win over Millwall

Andy Lonergan-7
Lonergan came up with the goods again and denied Lee Gregory, showing great awareness and bravery. He didn`t have an awful lot to do other than that, but it was another very assured performance from the former Leeds United man.

Josh Vela-7
Josh Vela is certainly making that right back position his own- he`s composed on the ball and in defence, though a few miscommunications with Mills early on made it slightly nervous viewing for Bolton fans.

Matt Mills-7
Mills was his usual solid self on Friday night- making the challenges required and distributing largely appropriately. As mentioned above, he may need to tighten up communication with right back, Vela, though.

Dorian Dervite-6
Dervite has been one of our best performers this season, and had a reasonable game at the centre of a recently strong defence. He looked a little unsure of himself at times when it came to passing, though the Frenchmen on the whole was decent.

Tim Ream-7.5
The former New York Red Bulls centre back is looking more comfortable now at left back and made some crucial interceptions, and is looking better going forwards now too.

Neil Danns-7
Since the arrival of Neil Lennon from Celtic, the former Leicester City man Danns has thrived in a deeper role- where Lennon used to play himself for Leicester. Danns is strong and put in some very useful challenges and touches.

Darren Pratley-8 MAN OF THE MATCH
Darren Pratley is an amazing man, that`s all I have to say. The former Swansea City captain really got stuck in, and persisted to make up for any mistakes he`d made. His passing has got much much better, and under Lennon he is thriving. Terrific finish for the goal, too.

Liam Feeney-6.5 (ex Millwall)
It was always going to be difficult to return to the New Den for Feeney, Millwall being his former club, though he fared fairly well. He certainly worked hard and at times was the furthest man forward of a team that was playing without a proper striker. He must keep his game simple, though, as I`ve never seen him succeed with fancy footwork, though it`d be hard for him to cross with no one in the box.

Chung Yong Lee-8
It was very very difficult to choose my man of the match, and South Korea captain Lee came extremely close. He played in a deeper role and was his usual terrific self, mesmerising the opposition with his quick feet and turns and assisted Pratley`s goal well. Things are look good for Lee.

Robert Hall-6.5
I was happy to see Hall return to the squad as I had seen glimpses of genuine quality, similar to that of Raheem Stering. I do feel that he was overly hyped a year or two ago, like Sterling, and is now having to almost rebuild his career. Hall played in a central role and put in some lovely touches, however he`s very easy to push over- especially is you`re Danny Shittu.

Eidur Gudjohnsen-7
The former Chelsea, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur legend had a good outing, I thought, against a physical Millwall side. He displayed lavish skill and reminded me of Andre Moritz from last season- brilliant on the ball, however can`t compete physically. At least Gudjohnsen has an excuse- being 10 years older. I think we can expect more from the Iceman and I`m excited.

Subs:

Liam Trotter-6.5 (ex Millwall)
I`ve always thought that Liam Trotter has more to come. He`s big and very strong looking, yet he lets the game happen around him and plays too passive a role for my liking. I feel that whenever he`s given the ball he takes four or five pointless touches then plays a simple ineffective pass. If we wanted that, Medo would be playing. Trotter did, however, hot a sweet dipping volley that had David Forde scrambling to push away.

Connor Wilkinson6 (ex Millwall)
The former Benfica target cut a very much isolated figure up front, though he persevered and hit a thumping volley which caused problems. Wilkinson has potential- we need to use it.
