New Look Bolton For Salford Trip?

The first question is, will the game go ahead?

We aren’t playing Mansfield this weekend, but we’re travelling to a Salford side that have seen their last two home matches called off, so the last thing we need is another postponement.

On a less facetious note, the opportunity is there for Wanderers to have a whole new look, though whether Ian Evatt throws in all his new signings from the outset is another thing. Only MJ Williams would have been eligible had Tuesday’s match gone ahead, but Marcus Maddison, Lukas Jensen and Dapo Afolayan are all available for selection. So too, is Ryan Delaney after his injury at Tranmere a fortnight ago.

Bolton have often done better this season in the games you wouldn’t really expect. The reverse fixture in November, the first ever meeting between the sides, was such an occasion, where we put in a rare excellent performance and won 2-0.

I’d probably put money on a defeat tomorrow, Salford’s recent home record when they’ve got the pitch playable is good, but we’re such an unknown quantity when we haven’t got a new quartet of players to introduce, never mind that we have.
