Bolton will be looking to sign a striker this summer, at least one, but the rumours of interest in one have seen the club ‘distance themselves from speculation’.

Reports recently had been saying that Clayton Donaldson, who becomes a free agent at the end of the month, was someone that Dougie Freedman was looking at as an option to ‘bolster’ the Bolton attack.

Scorer of 18-goals last season to help Brentford gain promotion from league 1 into the championship has seen the 30-year-old gain some interest from Birmingham City, and apparently Bolton.

There aren’t any direct quotes from anyone at all but the Bolton News ‘understands’ that Freedman doesn’t have Donaldson among his interested options should he decide to leave Griffin Park on a free….

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
