Having been more than critical of Kevin Nolan on this site, it`s only fair to point out that his performances have improved lately. He was pretty good against Everton and very good against Manchester City. It`s a pity he has to spoil things by opening his gob.

The Reebok`s adopted scouser hasn`t hit the net this season, not with the ball anyway, but he`s confident of changing that in the near future.

‘I’ve had a few good chances to score and perhaps I should have against Manchester City and Newcastle, but I know the goals will come because I believe I was one of those players who was born to score goals,` he told BWFC`s offal site.

Maybe Kev has been inspired by listening to Bruce Springsteen. Either that or his memory`s rubbish. In seven Premier League campaigns prior to this, Nolan has only accrued a significant goal tally in two. In 2003-4 he bagged twelve and in 2005-6 eleven. In other seasons he`s managed eight, one, four and two fives. Hardly Mr Prolific.

The full interview with the Captain will be published in Saturday`s match day programme. No doubt there`ll be some gushing praise for a certain Mr Megson. The relevant pages will be laminated. That way it will be easier to wipe the vomit off.
