Former Bolton captain Jay Jay Okocha scored a late winning goal in his own testimonial game as Nigeria beat a World XI 2-1. Portsmouth`s Kanu scored the opening goal for the Super Eagles in the first half, with Okocha playing for an opposition side which included El Hadji Diouf, Sully Muntari and Benjani Mwaruwaru.

Daniel Amokachi equalised just after half-time, but with the clock ticking down, Okocha who had switched sides at half-time, fired home the winner just before the end, to bring down the curtain on a glittering career.

  • Well done JJ. Shame you couldn’t score for us in your time at Hull but your contribution was well valued. Thank you for setting up all of our goals at least. Hope your life after playing football is as fruitful as when you were playing. Good Luck JJ from Hull!
