Parkinson Set To Stay – Will That Annoy Fans?

|

It looks like Phil Parkinson is here to stay – journalist Alan Nixon has tweeted that if and when Football Ventures get their hands on the club, they’ll opt to stick with Parkinson despite many a fan wanting a change in the dugout.

Under most circumstances, Parkinson should and would have been sacked given his record, and ideally, a complete change at the club from top to bottom to get the fanbase excited again would have helped.

But things are easier said than done, and time is already running out, with just over four weeks until the season starts. But the new regime could be mindful of what is or isn’t out there. A sacking is only as good as the guy you bring in to replace him, and you would be swapping a multiple promotion-winner from League One with, who? Who will come to a team with a 12 point deduction, having to build a squad almost from scratch? While we arguably are a better prospect than Bury (who could go into administration too) they have had to delve into National League South to appoint their next boss, and we may have had to take a punt.
