Premier League clubs have voted in favour of a move to allow seven substitutes in matches from the start of next season. This will provide a major problem for Bolton manager Gary Megson, providing that he hasn`t been sacked and his team are still in the top flight. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy who proposed the change was delighted with the outcome.

‘It is important to give our managers greater choice on the bench, enabling them to be more creative tactically,’ said Levy, ‘that was the objective behind us bringing this proposal to the table.’

However, Megson is concerned, that with seven players to pick from, he`ll find it even more difficult to pick a bench that contains no strikers whatsoever. Bolton are considering an appeal against the decision.
