After a frozen-pitch induced break, Bolton are back in action tomorrow as we welcome Charlton to the Macron.
Our league form has wobbled in recent weeks, and with the transfer window slammimg shut soon (it never gently closes does it?) there are a few worries that we won’t sign anyone.
But there’s signs of optimism too. Sheffield United looked in great form but they have dropped five points in a week and if we win our games in hand, we go above them.
It’s about grabbing this season by the balls now.
‘I love me.’
Karl Robinson.
I haven’t looked. Seemingly no new injuries, and everyone has had a bit of a rest, expect the usual team.
He’s playing against his old club so why not? He played well against Palace overall, but gave up so much space on that second Benteke goal. He will have to deal with a tricky customer in Ricky Holmes too.
Johnnie Jackson, Harry Lennon, Josh Magennis, Jason Pearce and Ahmed Kashi are all unavailable, Patrick Bauer could be involved but it is still touch and go whether he will have recovered from an injury. Lee Novak will be good to return
Probably will be always known as ‘that lad who scored the second for Celtic against Barcelona.’
His career hasn’t taken off since then, but did score for Cardiff at the Macron last season. So he is dangerous. Actually we were rubbish last season. But he is a threat
Charlton equalised late on in a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture this season
The last five games between these sides (league and friendly) have been draws. Charlton were winners last time someone took three points, in October 2014, while our last win was in the 2012/13 season.
The Addicks are unbeaten in four since losing to Millwall in December. Since then they’ve picked up eight points, compared to our seven.
We’ll finally beat Charlton, but I envisage a hard fought 1-0 win.
Away to MK Dons next Saturday, then we play Walsall at home the following weekend.
