Amongst the Sports Shield liquidation farce, it might have been forgotten there is football tonight. Admittedly, is in the Pound Shop Red Bull Cup second round, but it`s football. We welcome fellow Championship club Sheffield Wednesday to the Macron, with a chance for both managers to rotate their sides. And whoever does go through, gets to see someone screw up a draw in the middle of the night, and the chance to play one of the top Premier League sides, who enter in the next round.

Vital Quotes:

“We know if we get through this round the bigger clubs who have been involved in Europe come in and there is a bit more excitement, so personally I want to be a part of that.”

Phil Parkinson in the Bolton News

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

Bolton are expected to make multiple changes, as per the Crewe game in the last round. Antonee Robinson, Derik, Aaron Wilbraham and Will Buckley will probably all start, with Ben Alnwick in goal

Player to watch: Will Buckley

Buckley had an unsuccessful loan spell with Wednesday in recent years, the 3-5-2 formation has meant Buckley, admittedly more used to playing wider, hasn`t been a regular in our team, but should get some minutes tonight.

Sheffield Wednesday Team News:

Sheffield Wednesday will also make changes, Joe Wildsmith will start in goal. Morgan Fox and Adam Reach should be the full back, with Tom Lees and Daniel Pudil at centre-back if new signing Frederico Venancio does not get his international clearance. Ross Wallace is expected to replace George Boyd in midfield, with Barry Bannan in the frame too. Fernando Forestieri could play behind Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winnall.

Player to watch: Fernando Forestieri

Wednesday have quite a few strikers on their books. Forestieri seems to have had an unsettled time at Wednesday, having fell out with management over possibly leaving the club. He came from a two-game club suspension at the weekend, and might be out to prove a point tonight.

Match Facts & Stats

I`ve little time for stats as this is late going up, but the last two games between us at the Macron have been goalless draws. Get on Betfair and lay this going to penalties then.

Match Prediction:

I`ll go for a Sheffield Wednesday win, maybe in extra time. If we`re both changing our sides, they definitely have more strength in depth

Next Fixtures:

A trip to Hull on Friday. It`s then international football the following week, before we host Middlesbrough on 9th September
