Reaping The Benefits

David Lee believes that the ‘fringe players’ at Bolton, currently out on loan, will benefit from the spells away from the Reebok with his side ‘reaping’ the benefits ultimately.

Josh Vela at Notts County and Sanmi Odelusi at Milton Keynes Dons are both benefiting from some regular first-team football with league one clubs and are both earning some good reviews too.

Vela’s chances have been limited by injuries but for this Lee is sure he would have played more of a part for Dougie Freedman this season but his loan in particular isn’t going to be a bad thing.

The U18 coach told the Bolton News: ‘It is nice to see Josh doing well at Notts County. Without his injury this season, I am sure he would have had more of an impact in the first team.

‘He has struggled to get regular senior football because of that and this loan will do him the world of good.

‘It’s a chance for him to prove himself, and I have every confidence he will do that and benefit the club when he comes back.

‘The loan system is fantastic for younger players like Josh and Sanmi, who are out at present.

‘It is tough at that level down the leagues and if these youngsters can do it there, it will give them the hunger to succeed at the Reebok when they return.’

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.
