Returns For Player And Manager As Wanderers Keep Pre-Season Local

|

Bolton’s pre-season schedule has been confirmed, with the club playing their programme of friendlies entirely in the North West.

The schedule is fairly similar to many of Wanderers’ previous friendly schedules, with a few away games, a match in Leyland, where we take on Preston, before finishing off with the only home game, where we take on Blackburn Rovers. Incidentally, as long as we’re not in lockdown four or five by then, that would mark a return of fans to the UniBol after a 17 month and two day exile.

Amongst the other games, George Thomason will have the chance to play against former club Longridge, while Ian Evatt will go back to his former club. Of course, we played at Barrow last season, but that was behind closed doors. There is also the now-customary match against Atherton Colls. There should be some good days out for the fans there.

First team friendlies
Saturday 10 July (KO 3pm) – Longridge Town vs. Bolton Wanderers
Tuesday 13 July (KO 7.30pm) – Atherton Collieries vs. Bolton Wanderers
Saturday 17 July (KO 3pm) – FC United of Manchester vs. Bolton Wanderers
Tuesday 20 July (KO 7pm) – Preston North End vs. Bolton Wanderers (at Leyland)
Saturday 24 July (KO 3pm) – Barrow vs. Bolton Wanderers
Saturday 31 July (KO 3pm) – Bolton Wanderers vs. Blackburn Rovers

Meanwhile, a Wanderers XI will separately play matches at Bamber Bridge (July 21), Chorley (July 27) and Chester (August 4).
