Contrary to reports, Bolton`s Ricardo Vaz Te has not joined Scottish club Hamilton Academical on loan.

Vaz Te, once seen as an exciting prospect, has had a lean time in the past few years. He scored three goals in four games at the end of the 2005-6 season, but was frozen out after the arrival of Nicolas Anelka.

He performed well in 2008-9 pre-season, but suffered a knee injury in the first competitive game against Newcastle United, a problem he has yet to fully recover from.

The former Portugal under-21 international is out of contract at the end of this campaign, but will still command a fee due to his age.

  • I really hope Vaz Te can prove us all wrong and come back into the team with blinding form, he has always been a favourite of mine.

  • He needs to be given a run in the side, not just sub appearances.
He has exceptional pace, not like some of the loanee centre forward donkeys like Rasiak and Makakula we have signed.
On another note can anyone tell me why Basham is not being given any playing time?

  • What on earth has happened to Vaz Te? Is he still a professional footballer? He looked like he had a real future ahead of him.
