Ahead of tomorrow’s clash we speak to Vital Birmingham to get the lowdown on our opponents

Ahead of tomorrow’s trip to St Andrew’s, we spoke to Vital Birmingham to get the lowdown on Blues. We asked them the usual questions, who to look out for and all that, plus they let us know how two former Wanderers are regarded there.

We thank them for their help.

A win and loss in the league so far, what is the mood around Birmingham at the moment?

The mood around St. Andrew’s at the moment is quite a pleasant one and I think that was helped by the fact that we won on Saturday. Despite going a goal down inside a minute, the crowd stuck with the lads and it paid off because we ended up punishing a very tough Bristol City side for not finishing their chances off.

You have a couple of ex-Wanderers in your ranks in Lukas Jutkiewicz and Paul Robinson? What are your opinions of them?

I think both are very good players. Lukas Jutkiewicz last year was our top goal scorer and I was very pleased for him. He hasn’t featured for us yet this season as he has been injured but when he comes back, I am sure the goals will follow. As for Paul Robinson, the veteran defender is still ready to step in whenever he is needed, as he showed on Saturday when he replaced Jonathan Grounds at half time, and it’s safe to say he is a big fan favourite.

Harry Redknapp has spoke about the need for new signings – is that Redknapp being Redknapp or is there anywhere that genuinely needs reinforcing?

It’s not Redknapp being Redknapp that’s for sure. Blues desperately need a new striker and a new winger. Luton Town forward Isaac Vassell is believed to be close to signing for us but I don’t believe he will solve all our problems but I can’t wait for him to prove me wrong.

What should we expect from you tactically?

Personally I think Trotters fans can expect an attacking approach from Blues because we are at home. We will look to start a lot quicker than we did on Saturday so I think you guys will have to be on your toes from the get go.

Which Birmingham player should we look out for

Based on his performance and goal on Saturday, I am going to have to say Jacques Maghoma.

And finally, what will the score be?

2-1 Blues win.
