Stats and Reaction: Burton 2-0 Bolton

|

A disappointing, gutting, disgraceful day for Bolton Wanderers. Having a chance to make a statement and hold the advantage going into the final day of the season, we instead went down 2-0 to a Burton Albion side who went above us in the process.

Perhaps the most disappointing stat (beyond the all-important score line) was the zero shots on target we had. Not that is this a first either, in another clash against a relegation rival, when we played Birmingham City earlier this month, we then failed to register anything on that particular column either. I don’t think it’s necessarily effort, more as much as bottle. From where we were in late-March, to where we are now, we’ve chucked it away.

“I can only apologise to our travelling supporters today because that wasn’t good enough,” said Phil Parkinson to the official YouTube channel afterwards.

Bolton used a 4-2-3-1 formation, while Burton used a 4-1-4-1
