Stats As Bolton Cut Apart By Blades

Bolton Wanderers lost their first home game of the season as they lost to Sheffield United at home in consecutive seasons for the first time since the 19th century.

We never got going and at times made the Blades look like Barcelona, with goals coming from Mark Duffy, Kieron Freeman, then John Fleck in the second half.

Despite the slightly embarrassing loss, we are still third in the Championship, averaging two points per game. It really isn’t a bad start to the season at all, there probably isn’t a fan out there who would have thought we’d be on 10 points by the end of August.

One long-term worry is that we’ve only scored one first-half goal in six games in all competitions this season, which is something that needs fixing pretty quickly.

Bolton Wanderers subs:
Oztumer replaced Murphy (62)
Wildschut replaced Buckley (62)
Donaldson replaced Magennis (81)

Sheffield United subs:
McGoldrick replaced Clarke (45)
Stearman replaced Duffy (69)
Woodburn replaced Sharp (86)
