Bolton Wanderers lost 2-0 at Middlesbrough last night and pretty much anyone who watched the game wouldn’t be surprised to look at the stats on what was Phil Parkinson’s 100th league game in charge of the Trotters.

Boro had much more of the chances and outshot Bolton by 19 to 7. There were six attempts on goal over the course of the match, with the hosts winning that count 4-2. Bolton had just one corner compared to the ten we conceded, while we only had 39% of the ball against a Tony Pulis side.

We gave away 13 fouls to their seven, while there were cards for David Wheater, Joe Williams, Jason Lowe and Josh Magennis. Only Stewart Downing was booked on the other side.

Bolton played a 5-3-2 for the first time this season, with Josh Vela playing up alongside Josh Magennis, while Middlesbrough played a 4-3-3
