Stats: Bolton Outclassed By Stoke

Here are the match stats from Bolton’s 2-0 defeat at Stoke on Tuesday night.

It was a disappointing night for Wanderers as goals in either half from Bruno Martins Indi and Tom Ince saw us fall to our second away defeat of the season. Possession was fairly even and we had much more of the ball than Saturday’s match against Derby, but as we’re all probably accustomed to now, the more we have the ball, the worse the actual result seems to be.

Stoke dominated pretty much all the stats, they had 14 attempts to our six, while we only managed one shot on target all night compared to the Potters’ seven.

We played a 4-2-3-1 formation with Marc Wilson coming back in for David Wheater, while Stoke played their usual 4-3-3 formation.
