Stoke 2-0 Bolton: Was Magennis’ Disallowed Goal An Injustice?

|

Bolton lost in disappointing fashion last night as they went down to a 2-0 defeat against Stoke City.

There was a chance to get something out of this game – Stoke have been leaky at the back and had lost both their other home games against North West opposition this season, but in the end, Bolton had few positives they could take from that performance. At least we didn’t get relegated this time.

Marc Wilson came back in for David Wheater – maybe they didn’t want Wheater playing three games in eight days, but Wilson’s displays for us so far haven’t really filled me with confidence. We went behind early after Bruno Martins Indi headed home from a set-piece. We were slightly better after the break but Tom Ince ended up sealing the game for Stoke. Josh Magennis had the ball in the net but the goal was disallowed. Butland went down and Magennis was pushing Ashley Williams back almost too much for his own good, so despite the perceived injustice, it’s easy to see why it wasn’t given. Have another look for yourselves though.
