Reports linking Bolton with the signing, with money paid, for any signing are highly unlikely but a signing with a £1m fee involved would be a major stumbling block.
Players from Neil Lennon’s former club Celtic will, of course, be easy names to link with moves to Bolton and one of them is striker Anthony Stokes.
The problem is a permanent deal would set us back £1m!
Wanderers aren’t going to pay that kind of fee in January are they so the best that could be hoped for was a loan deal, but Celtic aren’t going to allow that either are they lets face it so there is little wonder this has been played down by Lennon, as have moves for any of his former clubs players….
Another linked with us, as he had been Celtic funnily enough under Lennon, has been Gary Hooper.
The Norwich City striker has been limited to a substitutes role at Carrow Road since his return from injury but isn’t a player you would imagine Norwich would be allowing to leave on loan, if he did he leave at all in January this would be permanently with no shortage of reported interest from the premier league either.
Not forgetting his wages being an issue!
