Stuart Holden Update

Bolton have issued an official update on the status of Stuart Holden following his latest setback on his latest attempted comeback bid, which ended after just 23-minutes.

The American international will be having a scan on his knee and then going back to America for further ‘assessment’.

Bolton’s official website statement read: ‘Stuart Holden will undergo a scan on his right knee before heading back the US for an assessment on the resurfacing of last summer’s injury.

‘The American international’s progress back to fitness in a specially arranged U21 game against Everton at the Reebok on Monday night ended prematurely.

‘Holden was forced off in the 23rd minute with some discomfort in his right knee.

‘And he will now meet up with the surgeon who completed the operation on his right knee in the summer, following an injury sustained whilst playing for the United States during the Gold Cup.’

Maybe I am wrong but it doesn’t look good for Holden does it and if he managed to return to the Bolton first-team it would be a surprise.

If he returns to the professional game, after so long and so many problems with his knee, maybe even that would be a surprise now too?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
