Now The Sun has its knockers (here all week etc.), but it doesn’t pass by our door because I’m married to a scouser. And quite right to. However, when I came across a link to The Currant this morning, I had to have a look as the link said ‘Transfer rumour time and The Sun says it’ll take £14m to land Gary Cahill from Bolton.’ (Arseblog) And, indeed, it does say that Cahill will cost the Arse £14million if they wish to take our almost dead central defender. Nothing new there. However, at the top it says ‘EXCLUSIVE‘.

Exclusive? Not so much. For a start, we mentioned it here and an old, mostly unread, blog mentioned it here. So the price that Bolton would want for Cahill is not exactly news. Well, exclusive news anyway. Anyway, the official Arse website have mentioned the article, whatever that means. I don’t quite know what to make of an official club website that links to rumours in newspapers even though they don’t make official approaches. It kind of smacks of them making it known that they want the player without actually approaching his club. A bit like Barca and Fabregas which has got the Arse fans up in arms maybe? You be the judge.
