Team News And More Ahead of Wycombe v Bolton

Bolton will be aiming to bounce back from Wednesday’s horrendous loss tomorrow, unfortunately it will be one of the tougher tests in the division as we travel down to Wycombe.

Team news

MJ Williams might be better after being unwell and missing the cup tie on Wednesday. Dapo Afolayan had been affected too, and while played the other night, he has to be considered doubtful for this weekend. Josh Sheehan is probably out too after his knee injury against Stockport.

Possible XI: Dixon; Isgrove, Almeida Santos, Aimson, John; Williams, Lee; Kachunga, Thomason, Delfouneso; Bakayoko

Last time out

Bolton’s last trip to Adams Park was in August 2019, on the opening day two seasons ago. Amongst takeover uncertainty we just about fielded a side, and held out for a while before Paul Smyth and Fred Onyedinma scored in the second half to ensure we lost 2-0.

The opposition

Wycombe are up there, fourth in the table but recent momentum has been clipped with a couple of defeats for Gareth Aimsworth’s men. Defender Anthony Stewart has played over 200 games for them over two spells and scored in the League One play-off final two seasons ago. Joe Jacobson, the left-back who is dangerous with a dead ball, was Players’ Player of the Year last season, while midfielder Curtis Thompson won the same honour in 2019.

1-0 to Wycombe…
