There is a clamour for Kevin Nolan to be Bolton’s next manager, despite him yet to take charge of the first team in his management career.

Former Wanderer Nolan had been without a club since being released by West Ham in the summer. He had reportedly being training for his coaching badges, and was yesterday as appointed as player-manager of League Two side Leyton Orient.

The move had led some Bolton fans to link him with a future move to the Macron, with some pointing to the fact he is currently unbeaten as a manager.

One Bolton fan told us: ‘Nolan played for us, and he was a superb player for us. This mean he’ll lead us back to the Premier League surely.’

Meanwhile, one other former Bolton employee received some good news last weekend. After the 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, now assistant manager at the City Ground Lennie Lawrence came home to find out he will receive his cold weather payment.

With freezing temperatures enveloping most of the country. Dougie Freedman’s right hand man had being worried about having to turn the central heating up a few more degrees. But Lawrence will receive help for his bill, and therefore will not need an extra blanket.
