The Ever Reliable Bolton News

As predicted on this site, Bolton secured an away victory at Middlesbrough, with Johan Elmander playing a leading role. A pity those lovely folk at the Bolton News couldn`t get their facts right.

`But Swedish striker Elmander, an £11million summer signing from Toulouse, hit back immediately with a magnificent finish to complete a fine all-round Wanderers display.` wrote Linda Oliver.

Elmander cost £8.2 million. How do we know this? Well, click here and scroll down the page and there`s a video of Gary Megson saying so. The Ginger One wouldn`t lie to us would he?

However, this pales into significance compared to the Observer`s report on the game by Spencer Vignes, which contains this gem.

`Bolton survived an all-too brief second-half fightback by the Teessiders, claiming maximum points thanks to a decisive third goal in the 78th minute from the left boot of Johan Elmander, the South African striker’s first goal since the opening day of the season.`

If Elmander comes from that part of the World it`s scandalous that he should be allowed to play for Sweden. Someone should be told.

That`s what you get for letting a woman and someone called Spencer write about football.
