The Mysterious Case of Heidar Helguson

It was never the most successful of acquisitions. After playing for Watford and Fulham, Heidar Helguson signed for Bolton in 2007 for a fee which could have risen as high as £2.2 million. There was never any chance of that, as he spent most of the time on the treatment table and cost a fortune in surgical fees and medical supplies. The best thing about him was his wife.

Now he`s back, at least according to BWFC`s official site. This will be a surprise to Queens Park Rangers who signed him last season, and Watford, who are under the impression that they`ve taken him back on loan.

Helguson will now battle with Sam Ricketts for the number 18 shirt. Given the Icelander`s fragility, you`d have to fancy Ricketts by technical knock out in the early rounds.
