Two for Bolton Job?

It seems to be a straight shootout between Nigel Adkins and Steve Cotterill for the manager’s job.

There seemed to be have been a random new name thrown into the ring every day, with Bradford City releasing a statement earlier in the week saying that Phil Parkinson had not been approached by Wanderers and the current Bantams boss was looking ahead to planning for next season at Valley Parade.

Yesterday, prices had shortened on Alex McLeish getting the job. McLeish hasn’t managed in England since 2013 after a short lived spell at Nottingham Forest. He spent the 2014/15 season managing Genk in Belgium’s Pro League but fell short of making the playoffs for the top teams, before a short time managing Egyptian giants Zamalek.

In any case, Marc Iles of our local paper tweeted that it was a no go, while putting out an image this morning with the faces of Adkins and Cotterill. Both have been interviewed for the job.

The Bolton News has also claimed whoever the new boss is, part of the reason we’ve had to wait so long for an announcement is that the prospective assistant has yet to agree terms as he is still on holiday.

Hopefully, somebody will be in place before the season starts…
