In our next Vital Bolton award, we want you to pick our young player of the season. Before we start, let’s clear up what we actually mean.
With that in mind, here are the four nominees.
ADAM ARMSTRONG
Played 20 league games before returning to Newcastle, and only one goal in the Championship to show for his efforts, but he was forced to play on the left flank, where he did show glimpses of potential.
REECE BURKE
While not a regular, he did seem to do enough to secure a loan extension to keep him at the Macron for the entirety of the campaign. Offered more on the ball than our other centre-backs.
ANTONEE ROBINSON
Arguably overtook Andy Taylor as first-choice left-back, even if Phil Parkinson didn’t always agree, and also earned a first US senior call-up in March. If Everton are loaning him back out next term, many would love him back in Bolton.
JOSH VELA
He has been around for ages, with over 100 appearances for Wanderers, but he is still just 24. Missed the start of the season, and one of a few players that did so, came back and resulted in us improving.
Young player of the season (under 25 is our criteria, and first team, before anyone says Connor Hall!)
