Vital Bolton Player of the Year: Nominations

|

Finally, the award nobody has been waiting for.

It’s your chance to vote for our Player of the Year. This will be done, as were the other awards, via Twitter. We’ve nominated eight players, which we’ve had to split over two polls. You only have to vote for one, and it’s a simple case of whichever player receives the most votes wins.

Here are the eight nominees:

Ben Alnwick
A number of key saves have at times bailed us out, particularly around February and March.

Sammy Ameobi
Scored some of our better goals this season and regularly happy to take opposition defenders on. A player we should definitely be looking to give a new deal.

Mark Beevers
A name which might surprise a few people, but Beevers has been almost an ever-present this season, and is amongst the top Championship defenders for average blocks and clearances made per game. Granted, there’s been a lot for him to throw his body at, but it does point to someone who will put their body on the line.

Karl Henry
Already voted signing of the season, Henry’s introduction from the end of September gave us a bite that had been all too lacking from our midfield prior to then and has surely set standards off the pitch too.

Adam Le Fondre
Could have easily left in January, but Gary Madine’s departure opened up a place for him, and he responded with six goals in the second half of the season, plus the wonderful display off the bench against Forest.

Filipe Morais
I was wrong. I thought he’d do little in the Championship, but he put in a few decent performances and filled in at various positions. Only a couple of assists though, and the one goal, that free kick at Millwall.

Darren Pratley
For whatever reason, results were generally better when Pratley was involved. He can make himself a nuisance, in a good way.

David Wheater
Like Beevers has done his job when it comes to blocking and clearing. Plus he’s a character.
