Wanderers Step Up When It Matters To Cruise To Promotion Clinching Victory

|

No need for loads of analysis. Just praise.

The Sky camera were there because there was the right amount of peril. It was in our own hands, but we were away to a team with a good record against good sides.

It could have been a tricky away game, but we blew Crawley away. Them losing a player and some calamitous defending from the hosts certainly helped, but what a time to secure our biggest win of the season. In this run one thing has been finishing games off, with the exception of Eoin Doyle we have sometimes struggled for goals. No such problem today, all of the four front men got on the scoresheet and we were 3-0 up early in the second half. No making life hard for us today. And to see Dapo Afolayan finally get a goal after his performances in his time with us was especially wonderful to see.

We were as low as 20th in January, we beat Stevenage in February and only that was the point where we could safely say we wouldn’t be dragged into another relegation. The run since then has been incredible. Since then we’ve been the best team in the league. Promotion was the aim at the start of the season and we’ve done it. And on what could have been a heart-attack inducing day, our players simply stepped up, and now they’re going up. To every Bolton fan tonight, enjoy it. just enjoy it.
