What Now for Kevin Nolan?

If his public pronouncements are anything to go by, Kevin Nolan is looking forward to the new season with optimism.

‘It’s just great to be playing in the Premier League after such a poor season, by our standards. Being able to play against the Liverpools, Manchester Uniteds and Arsenals is fantastic and I can’t wait to get going again,’ he told the Bolton News

Privately it`s a different matter. Nolan has expressed disquiet at his treatment from sections of the Reebok crowd and has even suggested that he may move elsewhere. Since scoring eleven goals in the 2005-6 season the Bolton captain has struggled for both form and fitness and whilst barracking a player is a pointless exercise, it is easy to understand the frustration of supporters who pay inflated prices to watch football.

A return to previous glories would be welcome, but after three seasons of below par performances, doubts have to be raised about whether this can happen. Over to you Kev.

The Best and the Worst

Slimline in Stretford – Nolan bags the winner at Old Trafford.

Goals Galore – Season 2005-6.

Cool calm and collected. Not – Tantrums at Ewood.

Fat boy takes a tumble – Oh dear.
