With still another five days before the administrators’ deadline for bids for the club, it leaves us still in a place where we can’t tie anyone down to professional contracts.

This will probably thwart us in attempting to keep some of our younger prospects. One such player is Harry Brockbank. He had a run of games toward the end of the season, but if Brentford seemingly have their way then he could be making his way down to West London between now and August.

Meanwhile Charlton have interest in Erhun Oztumer, according to Sky Sports. The Addicks were in for him in January, but our inability to sign an attacking player meant Oztumer stayed, and still went on to hardly play. He is a player who would do well in League One next season, and with a much-changed squad whatever happens, it might be prudent to keep someone who isn’t out of contract. Joe Pritchard left for Accrington last week, while Josh Vela has departed and Mark Beevers went to Peterborough. At some point, there will be a major rebuilding job. Thanks Ken.
