Bolton Wanderers have signed central defender Mark Conolly from Wolverhampton Wanderers, for a fee which could rise to around £1 million, if he does something outrageous, like become a first team regular. He is presumably, the young player who was mentioned by Gary Megson, when quizzed toward the end of the transfer window. The news has yet to be announced officially.

‘Bolton Tie Up Wolves Youngster` is the unfortunate headline on another Wanderers site. Lads, you need to get yourselves a proof reader.

Conolly is the third escapee from the Black Country to pitch up at the Reebok, following Chris Evans and Mark Davies. One hopes that the trend doesn`t continue to include Mick McCarthy when the Whites are recruiting their next manager.
