Another Away Day. Another Defeat

Mirco Antenucci scored a brace as Bolton fell to another away defeat, going down 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday.

As if any if us were crazy enough to have any hope of staying in the Championship before Saturday’s clash, Rotherham, MK Dons and Charlton all won, making the gap to safety now 10 points.

Wanderers had defended reasonably well for most of the first half, but as happened far too many times this season, chances were spurned then after a run of corners, Antenucci was left free in the area and flicked home to put the hosts ahead.

Leeds doubled their advantage in the second half. Rob Holding tried to play the ball out but only went as far as Antenucci who bended it inside the far post.

Kaiyne Woolery was eventually brought on, and whose who would preferred him to have replaced Emile Heskey after he got injured in the warm up would have been vindicated when the ball fell for him to reduce the deficit with about 15 minutes to play.

But it is now 20 away games without a win. If we fail to beat Bristol City or Brentford, it will be a calendar year without an away day success.

Will we win an away game this season? I reckon not
