How do you write a piece about a game you didn’t see? Well I’m going to have to try.

Bolton earned an FA Cup replay at Selhurst Park a week on Tuesday, after a hard fought goalless draw with Crystal Palace.

As expected, Wanderers went with a strong lineup, while Palace made changes, but still included familiar names including a certain Lee Chung-yong.

Now goes the bit which I’m relying on what I heard from the radio commentary. We seemed to have the much better of the game at the start and the end of the match, James Henry had several chances, while our brilliant defence looked fairly comfortable, and never looked panicked when they did have to deal with threats.

There seemed to be a general groundswell that there was a lot for the team to be proud of. The replay will give us some cash, and call me naïve, but I would rather see us get results than bow out.

I’ll be at the replay.
