Bolton Nil Suffer Another Defeat

Another Bolton match, another Bolton loss. There seems to be a trend in our last few games where Wanderers are at least holding out for a bit, and then when they inevitably go 1-0 down, our inability to actually hurt teams mean heads just seem to drop.

Last night`s game was scrappy – from both sides. The goals scored by Famara Diedhiou and Aden Flint weren`t particularly brilliant, but they were two more than we could score. Filipe Morais` sending off didn`t help at all either, and whether or not the referee didn`t help or not, he shouldn`t have gone to ground on a yellow card.
Sammy Ameobi came on off the bench in the second half, and could have been worse, but after such a long layoff he will need a couple of games to get going, and that`s before the match situation he was actually coming into. A similar story with Karl Henry, while he did little last night he may not be match sharp just yet.

Still though, it`s not that last night that was the problem as such. It`s the fact we have two points from ten league games, and the only other worse start to a Championship season in recent times was the Portsmouth side of 2011-12, and the only reason they had -1 points was a deduction. The problem is that we have scored one goal this season from open play.

Don`t tell Lee Anderson though. He won`t like it.
