  • Saturday was disappointing but it is our defensive away record this season that has cost us. Only 4 away wins all season even though we were one of the highest scoring away teams, the problem lies in our defence, 41 goals conceded away tells it’s own story. Only Huddersfield and Middlesborough conceded more away from home, the three relegated teams all conceded LESS goals away from home. The only defender I would keep would be Alonso and that is so he could play on the left side of midfield, he is not a good left back at all, as was demonstrated against Blackpool. The rest hopefully will leave so we can rebuild from the back.

  • The boys put there all in yesterday and could do no more. It was thrilling to watch ! Despite a lot of corners, none were converted – an area of focus for the future I believe. Equally, is it any coincidence that our first game without Dawson resulted in going engine early on. There were massive gaps in defence in the area just outside the box and Blackpool used that space to good effect, their 3 forwards showed us how it can be done. However, all in all I very happy with the season, and although we didn’t make he play offs I finished the season a happy wanderer.

  • Whatever happened yesterday the exit of Dawson and Spearing and the injuries meant that we were just not going to be good enough to get through the playoffs and we should thank Blackpool for saving us (the supporters) a lot of money and for giving us another exciting year in the Chumpionship. Let’s just hope Eddie still remains a keen supporter and our finances remain stable and the debt reduces. We all enjoyed the game and I thought those few minutes before half time were some of the best and most thrilling minutes I’ve seen all season. Alas we ******** sustain it, as ever. Let’s hope DF can get a full, consistent 90 minutes out of the team – whoever it may comprise – next season.

  • All we need to see happen now which would surely rub more salt into our wounds is for Leicester to win the play offs ! they were dead and gone until we played them and that result gave them fresh hope – I just knew it would come back to bite us.

  • aussie mike, exactly. We scored two away from home again, but let three in. The defence has to be priority when it comes to new signings.
