Another New Opponent As Bolton Finally Get To Face Morecambe

|

After a week and a half off due to the weather, Bolton get to show everyone how it’s done tomorrow night and get a game on against Morecambe.

The undersoil heating is going to die now isn’t it?

This was also a match that has been affected by postponements, this was meant to be played over the Christmas period but amongst the peak of the third wave of COVID or whatever we’re up to now, an outbreak in the Morecambe camp resulted in the game not going ahead at the time. While Ian Evatt has raised concerns about us having a busy end to the season, we’ve had a week or so to integrate the recent signings, of which some could feature tomorrow.

Team news

Kieran Lee won’t be available due to a COVID self-isolation period. He doesn’t have it apparently, but he’s a close contact of a squad member who did test positive and will also miss the match. There are no new injury problems, while Shaun Miller in theory should be available. Unless he has COVID.

The opposition

Morecambe, a club who remarkably have never been relegated, are in the promotion hunt to reach League One for the first time, they sit seventh, 11 points ahead of Bolton. Their recent form has been good, although a defeat at home to Tranmere last week was followed up with a draw at Stevenage on Saturday.

Previously…

We have never played Morecambe in a competitive game.

Prediction

Draw. 1-1
