Ben Alnwick has won April’s Vital Bolton Player Of The Month award, the first to be voted for by followers of the @VitalBolton Twitter account.
Alnwick’s performances in goal have seemingly done enough to secure him the prize, which is simply pride, because I’m certainly not buying a trophy – in any case, Alnwick took 38% of the vote to win the award.
The race for second-place was quite close, but Craig Noone (or as one follower suggested, maybe people wanted to vote for no-one considering the run we’ve been on) got it, taking 29%, ahead of fellow April goalscorer Adam Le Fondre who had 24% of the vote.
Sammy Ameobi was the other player to make the nominations, but he got just 9% of the vote.
