Armstrong Is Not Coming Back to Bolton

|

Adam Armstrong will be loaned out to a League One club, and we look at some other rumours

Adam Armstrong won`t be coming back. The club have officially confirmed this, with Newcastle seemingly wanting to loan him out again, this time to a League One club, where he would get some more game time. This looks certain to be Blackburn, Bradford were interested but aren`t willing to stump up the required wages.

It`s a good move for all. Armstrong occasionally showed glimpses of his talent, but opportunities were far and few between. Since moving to the 4-2-3-1 system, any football he has got has generally being on the left wing. We may as well play one of the actual wide men we have in that position.  Armstrong can go somewhere where he will play regularly and in his favoured position.

Josh Cullen seems set to return though after Twitter user and Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony pretty much made it public knowledge. Posh had asked West Ham if they could have him, but it looks as if Cullen will have a full season at the Macron.

Meanwhile, the noise seems to be that Gary Madine and Josh Vela look set to be sold if someone was to cough up enough money. I`d be surprised if we finish the window still having both players on our books. Madine`s departure would be a particular blow, key to the style of play and leaving off the best football he has played for the club. I just can`t see him leaving for Sunderland though, and if he did, he`d probably end up doing a Lee Clark (read his Wikipedia page if you don`t know what I`m on about).
