At Least We Can’t Go Down This Weekend: Derby v Bolton Preview

|

Our sick, dying football club plays another football match tomorrow.

We can’t be relegated this weekend at least, but even managing to come away from Derby with all three points tomorrow would likely only delay our inevitable demotion by a few days. Still, I’ll be there, hundreds of other Bolton fans will be, hoping for a ray of light that would still be weaker than the one we had at QPR two weeks ago.

Team news

Yanic Wildschut and Jason Lowe are still out, Luca Connell should be okay after coming off late on Tuesday, so basically we’re as you were on the team news front. Scott Malone is out injured for Derby, but Martyn Waghorn should be okay having come off early in the last couple of matches.

Facts and stats

Bolton won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in September, Craig Noone’s early goal proving the difference. But at Pride Park, we’ve lost all of our last three by a three goal margin (4-1, 4-1 and 0-3 last season)

We’ve won just one of our last 19 Championship games in the month of April, that coming after we were relegated in 2016.

If we lose two more games this season, we’ll have lost more games this season than any in our history.

Prediction

2-0 to Derby
